While we wait on this winter to be over, we wanted to share with you that we were in the news recently. A special ‘thank you’ to the Cutler Law Firm and Keloland Living for the invitation. It was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. You’ll first get to watch me (Michael) talk about some other business ventures I work on in between doing concrete before the video gets to Concrete Contours. We continue to put down more and more custom stone concrete edging. The process involves an integral colorant, our proprietary concrete curbing mix, extruding into the trenches we create, troweling and forming, colored release agent, and then the shaping process to create patterns and control joints. We would love the opportunity to look at your home with you and design something special.

Concrete Contours also specializes in low voltage, LED landscape lighting. We have installed more sets of lights this year than any other year. They illuminate all the right places in your landscaping to maximize your space during the other half of the day. Lights only cost pennies a year to run and we price them very reasonably. Every Spring we like to post a little bit about how excited we are for the year. This Spring is no different. We are so incredibly excited and looking forward to working with you. We have a brand new, 20 foot long trailer that is ready to come to your neighborhood. Speaking of neighborhoods.

Neighborhoods where just about every home is wrapped in concrete is one of our favorite kinds. We would love to do your concrete curbing this year. Call us to schedule – we are booking up fast!

We also like to tell people about our LED lighting. As much as people love our concrete edging, we get SO many compliments on our LED landscape lighting. We hear that is because people did not realize how big of a difference it makes for your space. If your landscaping doesn’t light up like this at night, we can help. We use low voltage, LED landscape lighting on a transformer that uses a dusk/dawn sensor so they turn on and off automatically. They cost pennies a year to run.

This is the BIGGEST (literally) reason why we are excited to next season’s concrete work. Introducing our 20′ trailer with mounted mortar mixer and weather-sealed storage unit with dual ramps. We do a lot to ensure that we are working efficiently and a trailer like this will really help. If you noticed, we utilize a mortar mixer versus a concrete mixer. Crazy right? Not at all! A mortar mixer mixes vertically and introduces more air with a more consistent mix than a horizontal concrete mixer. Also, mortar mixers have arms that stir the cement versus a concrete mixer which simply turns.

As a family owned business we especially find it rewarding to look back at some of our recently completed work knowing that families like ours are enjoying their newly designed yards and exterior spaces. Everyone knows us for our concrete curbing but you should hear the comments about our LED lighting and our plant work – thank you everyone for such kind words!

One of the many tricks to a great landscaped home is having diversity in plants and plants that are going to last. We prefer plants with minimal maintenance as well. Call us for plants and trees as well as lighting, concrete curbing, boulders, and rock.

The heat has not been friendly to us as a hard-working family business but it is not going to prevent us from working through it and putting down quality concrete edging. These homes were both done with a flagstone texture and slope profile in different varieties of cream brown colorants. Both homes just need the rock work completed and a high gloss sealer applied. Both to come this week!

Concrete Contours utilizes a concrete curbing mix that is a careful balance of ash, fine aggregate, portland cement, sand products, and other chemicals. These products are all run through a giant funnel that ultimately leads to very consistent, bagged products. This special mixture is the result of custom formulation that Concrete Contours worked directly with a company to produce. The result is highly workable cement and a very strong concrete curbing.
